the force of adelie sky

When it comes to editing photos I like to keep the process as simple and clean as possible. I believe editing should merely enhance an image and not completely alter it. However, sometimes special exceptions can be made. Last week I shared Adelie Sky's photo session and today I will share the results of the special request made by Adelie Sky's dad. To set the scene, let me just explain that Adelie Sky's dad is slightly interested (obsessed) with Star Wars (he did name his daughter Sky, after, well, you can guess who). He had a few special wishes of certain photos he wanted to take and asked what the magic of Photoshop could do to add a bit of the force to the images. This is what we came up with. The force is strong with Adelie Sky!

Fall family sessions are in full swing! Gorgeous bursts of yellow, orange and red tones are popping up everywhere. The Swedish landscape is really showing off and I'm ecstatic to have it as the backdrop for my families. I first photographed the Blom family at the start of last summer. Now 5-year-old Charlie is one of my students and his sister Poppy is talking and "flying" everywhere she goes. It's crazy how quickly these kiddos grow!

While the weather in Sweden is not always to my liking, I must admit, I love living somewhere where I can truly enjoy all of the four seasons. The fall colors out here are breathtaking and I'm grateful to have captured it in my session with the Lindblad family. The Lindblads are a party of five and all of them are bursting with love, joy and a healthy dose of silliness. I have the pleasure of working with mom Shea at an international school here in town, and 5-year-old Sofia is one of my own students! This afternoon was a lovely mix of work and play. Thank you Lindblad family for celebrating fall with me and being the most goofy and fun subjects yet!

lukas: one year

A sunny, Swedish summer day, cute smiling baby and my lens. That makes for a perfect morning in my book. After returning from vacation in August I was eager to dive back into work head first. This one-year birthday session was a joy and absolute pleasure to capture. Baby rolls, bright blue eyes and chubby cheeks. It's a recipe for absolute deliciousness!

cecily quinn & persephone wren

With names like Cecily Quinn and Persephone Wrenn these two sisters have a lot of cuteness to live up to and boy do they deliver. While on a visit home in California I met up with Cecily and Persephone's mom and had a grand time watching these two munchkins prance around their living room on a hot, summer morning. The girls brought out nearly every single toy they owned to show me, dumped them all on the living room floor and then showed off twirly dresses and early reading skills. All in all, it was an enchanting, and hilarious, display. Thank you Emily for letting me play with your girls! It's sessions like these that really define the joy of Lifestyle Photography for me.
